Unique Station: Kids Only

Worried about food pricing if you plan on having lots of children as guests at your wedding reception? For the little guests who might not appreciate the bacon-wrapped quail or beef tenderloin, consider having a kids’ only station. It helps you and your groom save money by not having to pay extra for children, and it makes the younger ones happy. You and your guests can breathe easier knowing their children are content.

What do kids like? Macaroni & Cheese, Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches, Mini Hotdogs, Chips and a Juice Box. This will help appease all little taste buds, even your pickiest eaters.

By having a kids only station with their favorite foods, you can eliminate having to pay for entrées for the kids, and instead use that money for the less expensive kids’ menu items.

Underwater Wedding: Part 1

Unique Station: Candy Station

A Candy Station is a great way to fulfill your guests’ sugar tooth and add a unique touch to your wedding. You can have anything from Skittles to fine chocolates. Guests can help themselves during the party or take home their delicious treats in a customized box or bag.

The candy is a non-traditional and fun way to add color to your wedding, especially by using a candy that incorporates your colors. Brides can order customized colors to tie together the theme.

The Pyron wedding (coordinated by Katie Selvey, and photographed by Our Labor Of Love) used sterling silver serving pieces to incorporate their winter theme. Others have used clear, glass cylinder vases filled with multicolored candy pieces. Our warehouse is full of lots of different choices to make it special to the bride and the groom.

Last year, Epting Events staff hand made 500 miniature candy boxes for favors! The boxes or bags can be personalized in countless ways.

Eco-Friendly Invitations

A rising trend for brides is eco-friendly weddings. We are currently working on an upcoming Spring 2010 wedding in Madison, GA, where the couple is using natural elements for their outdoor wedding, and are interested in using “green” wedding invitations. Upon researching earth friendly paper companies, here are a few that have some great selections of letterpress, recycled paper, custom design options, and soy-based inks.

Pistachio 100% PCW recycled paper, soy inks, and hand letter pressing

Verde Paperie literally means “green paper store” with eclectic designs from varying artists all over the country, can do custom designs

Oblation Papers specializes in custom wedding invitations, carries French wax seals, located in Portland, OR

Tasha Rae Designs also does custom invitations, independent artist specializing in paper design

Of The Earth some of their Lotka paper invitations can be planted in soil to grow wildflowers!

We finally decided to go with a local graphic designer named Libby Smith who has done invitations for some of our previous Athens, GA brides and is extremely talented and creative.
