Every year, the State Botanical Gardens hosts the Gardens of the World Ball, naturally the theme is based on a country or region this year was Provence. Now, if you know Lee Epting, you know once he has a theme in his head there is no stopping him. He worked with the committee and Kathy Rainer to come up with the menu and they decided to turn the garden into a French marketplace. We had custom made awnings made to create a French Cafe. The garden was completely transformed, the atmosphere and menu made guests feel like they were actually in France.

Naturally last week when I said that I would have it up the next day, what I really meant was next week. When I first met Megan and Sean, I knew their wedding was going to be very detail oriented and perfect. I instantly became a fan of them both when I found out Sean proposed with a cupcake from her favorite bakery, and they wanted to serve cupcakes as their wedding cake with milk shots. They chose the Hill for their venue, and of course we did the catering. Their colors were navy and red with a touch of turquoise. We hung our bulb lighting to the center of the tent. Megan looks gorgeous in her pictures, and we’re so happy to share their wedding with you!

Whether we’re doing your wedding or not, you, your family and friends or wedding party might need a place to stay in Athens, and boy do I have a place… The Hill! You can rent one or both of the houses for the weekend, each house sleeps 6 people with two queen beds and two twins beds. The houses are located on the same property off Jefferson Road, are walking distance from each other and four miles from downtown.

The A&D House is ideal for hosting your bridal luncheon on the back porch, or playing corn hole and croquet in the lawn between the houses. It is a great way for one last shebang with all your friends together for your wedding weekend. They are also available for football games too. Even if you’re not a UGA fan I’ll still let you stay there!
