The fourth annual Athens Wine Weekend is just around the corner! From Friday February 1st to Sunday February 3rd The Classic Center will host this benefit for their Cultural Foundation.
The weekend will start off on Friday with a VIP reception at the Foundry Inn & Spa, with featured chefs presenting an in house Amuse-Bouche, samples of their cooking artistry, and—of course— samples of wine to accompany it all!
On Saturday, the Grand Tasting begins with hundreds of wines from around the world to sample! United Distributors, Northeast Sales, Kermit Lynch, Quality Wine and Spirits, plus several Northeast Georgia wineries are just a few of this year’s distributors. Throughout the day, a wide range of seminars and informational sessions will be presented by a bevy of international wine experts including Michael Venezia, Jaamy Zarnegar, Master Sommelier Michael McNeill, Steve Waters, Frank Sinkwich, Carolyn and Randall Abney, and Nancy Palmer. To conclude a busy Saturday, a gourmet dinner, prepared and served by Epting Events’ own Center Stage Catering, will be served alongside wines selectively chosen for each course. The six-course feast features local fare, with the main course of Smoked Duck Breast over a Duck Confit with Savannah Red Rice.
As all of these Saturday events unfold, a silent auction will be held to further support and benefit The Classic Center Cultural Foundation.
To close, a Sunday Brunch and sparkling wine seminar will conclude the weekend’s festivities. The brunch will feature a feast of breads, sweets, meats, as well as complimentary beverages.
